Spicy Tuna and Tomato Burgers



These Spicy Tuna and Tomato Burgers are a tasty and healthy alternative to regular beef burgers that are also Paleo-friendly. They taste great and are fantastic for a quick and filling meal.

Ingredients:

  • 1 lb fresh tuna, diced
  • 1/2 cup diced tomatoes
  • 2 cloves garlic, minced
  • 1/4 cup diced red onion
  • 1/4 cup chopped fresh cilantro
  • 1 tsp chili powder
  • 1/2 tsp paprika
  • 1/2 tsp cayenne pepper
  • 1/2 tsp black pepper
  • 1/2 tsp salt
  • 1 tbsp coconut oil for cooking
  • Lettuce leaves for serving
  • Sliced avocado for serving
  • Paleo-friendly mayonnaise optional, for serving

Instructions:

Dice the tomatoes, red onion, cilantro, chili powder, paprika, cayenne pepper, black pepper, and salt

Put them all in a food processor and pulse until the ingredients are well mixed

Pulse the ingredients together until they are well mixed and broken up into small pieces, but not pureed

The mix should have some texture to it

Make burger patties out of the mixture that are the size and thickness you want

In a pan, heat the coconut oil over medium-high heat

For about 3 to 4 minutes on each side, or until they're done the way you like them, cook the tuna burgers

You can put the spicy tuna and tomato burgers on lettuce leaves and top them with avocado slices

If you want, you can add a dollop of Paleo-friendly mayonnaise
