Pomegranate Donuts
These delightful pomegranate donuts are a sweet and tangy treat that will delight your taste buds. The burst of pomegranate flavor combined with a crispy exterior and soft interior makes them perfect for breakfast or dessert.
Ingredients:
- 2 cups all-purpose flour
- 1/2 cup granulated sugar
- 1/4 cup pomegranate juice
- 1/4 cup buttermilk
- 2 eggs
- 2 tablespoons butter, melted
- 1 teaspoon baking powder
- 1/2 teaspoon baking soda
- 1/2 teaspoon salt
- 1/2 cup pomegranate arils seeds
- Vegetable oil for frying
- Powdered sugar for dusting
Instructions:
Mix the flour, sugar, baking soda, baking powder, and salt in a big bowl
Beat the eggs in a separate bowl and stir in the melted butter, buttermilk, and pomegranate juice
Blend thoroughly
Mixing until just combined, pour the wet ingredients into the dry ingredients
Avoid over-mixing
Pomegranate arils should be folded into the batter
In a deep pan, heat the vegetable oil to 350F 175C
Drop spoonfuls of the donut batter gently into the heated oil, and cook for two to three minutes on each side, or until golden brown
After taking the donuts out of the oil, pat dry with paper towels
While still warm, sprinkle powdered sugar over the pomegranate donuts
